It’s World Mental Health Day today and a chance for us all to help break the stigma. Nearly all, if not all of us, will struggle at some point in our lives with a mental health issue. In fact, it really should be a given throughout our lives that we get the support and knowledge to remain mentally healthy.
As funding gets chipped away at, it’s more important than ever that we recognise the many charities that provide a much needed back up, from general mental health organisations such as Mind to pregnancy loss charities like Tommy’s and the Miscarriage Association, and bereavement counselling such as Cruse.
We can all provide a listening ear and help by opening up and sharing our own experiences, if we can. Sometimes the world seems vast and scary, but just a kind word or a simple hug can be all it takes to make us realise the beauty in our lives and feel less alone.
